Potty training for kids – Know how

As your baby grows up to be a kid, it becomes important to introduce to potty training. The transition from diapers to sitting on potty differs how easily your kid can adapt to it. Your little boy or girl can adapt to it easily or resist, at times leading to constipation due to withholding within. This is a new chapter in life for kids; so parents need to hand-hold them in getting used to it.

Following potty training tips will be of help for you to help your little ones.

  1. Purchase a potty pot of your kid’s choice. Take your child to the shop and let them choose a potty pot of their choice. This will give them a curiosity to use it by themselves. Your child wants to do things independently and this will be a great option.
  2.  Purchase a potty toy alongside. Along with purchasing a potty for your toddler, get a potty toy so that your kid can place his or her’s teddy or doll on to it while he or she is sitting on the pot. This will give them a confidence to get used to it quickly.
  3. Get a potty pot at the right time. You need to understand when is the right time for potty train. If you start at an early age, your kid may not like it to get started. On the other hand, if you introduce the pot at a later stage of life, it will be of no importance to your kid. When you see that your kid is self sustained and able to balance himself or herself, that probably can be a good time to get a potty pot. Though that being said, it depends individually and it is up to the parents to understand the right time.
  4. Select a schedule for potty. You can set a time for your little child to do potty so that they understand that this is a everyday duty. Time will vary from child to child and so it depends on what time of the day they will do it and parents will be able to guide them after monitoring on daily basis.
  5. Kids choose to do activities while sitting on potty pot. Depending on what your kid likes, you can set it infront of them while they sit on the pot. It can be like giving them building blocks to make shapes, drawing materials, play rhyme songs or phonics songs or anything else. Gradually, parents can also set time schedule to finish off their routine duty.
  6. Praise your child after they complete. Everyone loves to be praised and it’s no different for little kids. They too love to be praised for whatever they do. If you praise your child for little things, this will add encouragement to finish their task fast.
